The remote platform was created to introduce artistic inclusion, expand access of children with disabilities to classes in areas related to the theater.
I am the artistic director of the Children's Inclusive Theater Perfeco in Kilaba, which has been working on the basis of BC Energetik, Vyshgorod since July 2018. The theater is a unit of the NGO "Theater Union for Children with Disabilities", has implemented three theatrical resolutions, the play "Lullaby for the Dragon" with the financial support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation is the winner of the Grand Prix of National and International Festivals. As of March 2021, according to a GOOGLE search, Perfeco in Kilaba is the only children's inclusive theater in Ukraine. 21 children with various diagnoses are engaged in the theater.
In 2020, we switched to distance learning, which gained momentum during quarantine activities related to COVID-19. Weaknesses in the organization of online learning processes were discovered, as well as many potentials for the educational process in the field of artistic inclusion.
During quarantine of 2020 we switched to distance learning. While online learning can be difficult and hard on an organization it also brought about a lot of potential for our educational community in the field of artistic inclusion.
After all, most cultural platforms are focused on megacities, bypassing small regions. Not all children with special educational needs are able to physically attend school, while remaining with limited access to communication with their peers. Most creative institutions: clubs, music schools have performance standards not designed for the creative potential of children with physical or mental disabilities.
It was at the initiative of the NGO "Theater Union for Children with Disabilities", which takes care of the theater, the idea to create on the basis of our theater Remote Art Inclusive Platform KI LA BA on a broader geography. We have a desire to share our achievements in the field of cultural inclusion, we are going to network our own methods, we strive to expand creative activities in areas related to the theater.
The KI LA BA Remote Art Inclusive Platform is an online learning platform, focused on the following areas:
- music therapy, vocals together with music therapist, author and performer, leader of the band "Dreams of Roads" Olena Soloshenko. This direction is aimed at exploring and learning about yourself, the world around you. You have the ability to Search for creative resources, and to accept yourself as you are. The curator of this course is Peter Jenny, a student of the Art Academy. Salvador Dali, Ivanna Danyliuk.???? In this course you will learn drawing, visual perception and conduct experiments to develop your imagination through imagination development, finding a source of inspiration, drawing techniques, & intuitive drawing.
• Rhythm therapy - Playing on a small percussion together. The founder of AfriKAN Drum School and the leader of drum circles on drum therapy in rehabilitation centers for children with disabilities, Olena Sukhorukova will be leading this course. Rhythm therapy works on the development of motility, musicality in a child, and a sense of rhythm. In the classroom, students will get acquainted with a huge arsenal of musical tools, learn about the properties of materials for their manufacture and learn to write their own composition!
• Stop-Motion Animation - or animation from everything together with a video maker, content maker, director Olga Oleksienko. These classes are a game, a modern way to express yourself with the phone, to enliven the world around you and tell touching stories.
• Acting skills, stage language & history of the theater – Taught by the artistic director of the Children's Inclusive Theater Perfeco in Kilaba Ulyana Danyliuk. Stage speech (articulation gymnastics with the help of animated videos using mascots, breathing exercises, pronunciation). The history of the theater in the format of animated video lectures voiced by actors (closer to understanding the general history of mankind, art, painting, theater). Acting classes provide self-expression, self-esteem, and mastery of useful things for others. Also, helps to increase the adaptability of the child on the team and provide an opportunity to look at yourself from the side, it is advantageous to present their features and not be afraid to be funny (and this is prevention from the position of the victim, self-pity).
All classes are offered above are without any geographical or physical restrictions!
The project team consists of specialists who have already immersed themselves in creative activities with theater actors on a volunteer basis. The mechanisms of distance/online teaching have been worked out, didactic material has been created according to one's own method "On the inclusive method of working with an Alternative Actor in an inclusive theatrical space" in collaboration with mentors, project psychologist.
Accompaniment of a psychologist during classes allows you to adjust the ways of interaction with children with different nosology, to awaken their cognitive and emotional spheres, creative abilities, to form skills of interpersonal communication, socialization. Also, professional psychological assistance is provided to parents of children with disabilities.
What do we need money for and what will we spend it on in the case of a successful crowdfunding campaign?
First of all, to expand the geography of the project so that children and their parents from the regions can learn about the possibility of joining the classes. To do this, we plan to include a targeting strategy that also works to promote inclusive art.
Also, to pay teachers, mentors, project teams.
For technical support of the Remote Art Inclusive Platform KI LA BA.
To create new animated videos on the history of theater, stage language.
For the purchase of materials for courses: the artist's thinking, rhythm therapy and the creation of theatrical props for acting classes.
Also, we are pleased to announce that our idea has been selected from the International Renaissance Foundation and any amount that you will personally donate to support the project Dissociative Art Inclusive Platform KI LA BA will automatically double, in the case of a successful crowdfunding campaign!
